Mai Do

My name is Mai Do, and I am 32 years old. I was born and raised in Emmen. I started my career in healthcare as a dental assistant, it was a career I was proud of and where I found much joy.  However, after a career span of 10 years. I felt that it was time to take on a new career.

The IT world is so dynamic, and the possibilities are endless. I admire the vision Alyx has in this and I want to be part of it. I want to expand my knowledge and work on my skillset and goals.

In my free time I like to be with my family and friends, having epic game nights or going out on city trips. But I also make sure I make time for myself to rest and watch a good show or read a good book.

Freke Meijeraan

A year ago I graduated from the bachelor ‘Allround Styling’ at Academie Artemis. In middle school I found my two passions, tech (electronics, smart homes, phones etc) and design. Ever since I was young I didn’t know tech was a career path I could take. I think partly because I wasn’t associated with the stereotype that chooses this path, but mostly I think it was because I wasn’t educated well enough in the options. So I chose to study design, while doing my bachelors I noticed my passion for tech was still there and tried to implement it in almost all my school projects. Next to that I learned 3D design during my studies. After my bachelor I wanted to do more tech related masters, but because of the my student debt I couldn’t afford it. That’s when I found Alyx, and it was the most perfect timing and opportunity ever. Now I’m really happy to be working in tech and it suits me and my personality so well.

Amber Zoë Sykes

I'm Amber, 25-year-old and my career began in psychology. There, I was most intrigued by the inner system of the human brain.

Now, I have transitioned into a career of cloud engineering. To me, the beauty of technology is just like decoding the complexities of the mind: Understanding how systems, whether neural or digital, function at their best.

I thrive on crafting efficient cloud infrastructure to create a seamlessly connected future.

Polina Novikova

I'm Polina, a 25-year-old originally from Russia who's been living in the Netherlands for a couple of years now. I made the switch from linguistics to tech and found my place as a Public Cloud Engineer at True, thanks to Alyx. This role allows me to bridge the gap between my love for problem-solving and the world of cloud computing. By being a woman in a male-dominated industry, I hope to inspire and empower others who might be considering a similar path. Outside of work, I enjoy visiting museums and diving into classical literature.
